5th Grade News.....

Yeah! We are finally done with the FCAT. Now on to the Science Fair. Mrs. Goodman has come up with a couple of great ideas for the Apes' projects. She was even seen out in the courtyard experimenting herself! In between FCAT testing the Apes have been working on gathering their research for their project. Looks like we are going to have some fun!

Mr. G started a new Read Aloud... "Roll of Thunder, Hear Me Cry", I just heard a little of it today and I think it is another novel with a message for life! The selection test ("A Boy Called Snow") and the word study test will be next week. Our reading skill is Drawing Conclusions.. Julia did a great job defining our skill before we even discussed it! After the holiday break we will be starting our next novel, "The Great Gilly Hopkins". Gilly is another one of those characters that develops and changes over the course of our novel. Like Maniac and Misha, she has a lot of determination. Can't wait to start... Mr. G actually lets me read the part of Gilly!

Have a wonderful and restful holiday. come back ready to charge into the last days of our time together.

Love you..... Mrs. P

4th Grade News.....

Now that FCAT is over, we are full force into our Science Fair Projects. Monday we worked on picking our projects and getting into our groups. There are some awesome projects planned. Then next came working on research. Laptop Day enabled us to all have access to the internet and gather some great information. I was able to help one group of boys start their experiment. They are looking at whether or not shoes vs no shoes has an affect on the number of free throws a person can make. Here are some pictures from the week.....

Have a wonderful holiday with your families... come back ready to dive back into our science projects.

Love you..... Mrs. P
