5th Grade News.....

Our End of the Month Luncheon was awesome! I don't think we have ever had this many parents attend before...... Mr. G posted the pictures I took of the Ape parents I hadn't taken pictures of at former luncheons. Here are the Heroes.....

5th Grade News.....

We decided to try something different in Rm 71.....

We are reading two different novels.... the girls are reading "Frindle" with ME and the boys are reading "Lemonade Wars" with MR. G. It's been fun, but I must admit I kind of miss the guys. These are two "fun" books... something light before we tackle the FCAT. Both books lend themselves to practicing all of our reading strategies and skills.

Mr. G gave us some background information on the Civil War, so we would be better able to interpret the poem, "O Captain My Captain" by Walt Whitman. This week has been fun and educational!

4th Grade News.....

Even though the FCAT Writing Test is over.... we are still writing in Rm 130. this week we did an expository piece and used our student rubric to help us remember what we would be graded on.

In reading we are continuing to work on reviewing/learning skills for the FCAT test coming up in two weeks. This week we worked on Author's Purpose and Compare/Contrast. We want to be ready when the test gets here.

Today was our Laptop Day. When I "rolled" in everyone was busy working on their Multiplication Facts. Later on this afternoon, the Ry/Ro's worked on the Equivalent Fractions Gizmo..... who would have thought Math could be so much fun......

Where are all the laptops.....


It sure is quiet in Rm 130.....

Great Week for the Peck Family.....

Just want to share some great family news. Andrew, "Son #2", proposed to Jenny at the top of the Empire State Building. Didn't that happen in a movie???? We are so happy for both of them.

Then Kelly, my daughter-in-law, "Son #1", completed the 26.2 with Donna Marathon. We are soooooo proud of her and her dedication and committment. Way to go, Kelly!!!!! We are so blessed to have such great sons and great girls in their lives.....
