Chase's Play & Madison's 1st Day 1st Grade.....

Mrs. P wears many hats.... but one of my most rewarding and fun is grandmother (Mimi)! Today was no exception.

Chase has been attending Theatre Camp in San Marco for the second half of the summer. Tonight was their first performance entitled, "Broadway Adventure". It was fantastic.... and of course Chase was a "ham"!

Yesterday was also a special day for Madison. It was her first day in 1st Grade. She loves school and couldn't wait to start. We're so proud of her.

It's "Almost" Time...

It's almost time for us to start another school year. Can't wait to see some "old" students and meet my new ones. Be ready for a lot of learning and fun. I was at school yesterday getting my office ready, and I saw Mr. Gibbons, Mrs. Hartless, Mrs. Gaspard and Mrs. Nelson. Their rooms are just about ready and waiting for you ..... I am excited to work with these awesome teachers this year.

Peck Wedding & Dinner Party...

I guess you're wondering what Mrs. P has been doing the last week.

Well, The Peck's have a wedding in September for Son #2! It's in Nashville and we have been busy getting "our" part together long distance from here in Jacksonville. Rehearsal Dinner invitations are printed and now need to be addressed. And most importantly, for the Mother of the Groom, I have found a dress! We're very excited and are looking forward to adding another "daughter" to our family.

As if that is not enough... we also had a dinner party last night for our closest friends. We formed a dinner club with a few of our good friends from Church. Every two months one of the couples has everyone over for a four course dinner. You guessed it, this month was the Peck's turn. It is a lot of work but tons of fun and a great evening with awesome friends.

This summer has been really BUSY! I think I need to get back to school to get some rest! Just kidding..... this summer has been fun, but I'm looking forward to seeing some of my "old" students and meeting my "new" students.

Chase's 10th Birthday...

Chase actually had 2 Birthday Celebrations... one for some "kid" friends at Adventure Landing on Saturday and one for family on Sunday. Mrs. P helped him celebrate on Sunday. Here are some photos of our family celebration.....

Bunko-Birthday?????

I know you must wonder if Mrs. P hasn't had enough Bunko for the summer... but in addition to chairing my Church Bunko, we are also part of a couples Bunko Group with our closest friends from Church. The tradition is to celebrate "monumental" birthdays (40, 50, 60) with our Bunko group. Well, my friend Dair turned 60 and it was my turn to have Bunko so..... we had a "Birthday Bunko Party"!

Well, we have settled back into our normal routine... but we are missing Boston. Mr. P and I are already talking about the "next" time we go back. Found some interesting candid shots that I took while we were walking around Boston. Thought I would share them...

There was a Dunkin' Donuts on just about every corner in Boston. Since they call Boston a city of "firsts", I wonder if they invented the donut in Boston????


There were almost as many 7-Elevens as there were Dunkin' Donuts... I hadn't seen a 7-Eleven since I was a little girl in Miami...


Of course... what goes with donuts??? Starbucks!


I found the hydrants interesting. Can you see the small pole sticking up? Mr. P said that was so they could know where the hydrants were when they had a heavy snowfall and were plowing.

Our 4th & Last Day in Boston...

Sunday was our last day in Boston (sniff... sniff). We have had a blast, but the best was yet to come. On Sunday Mr. G picked us up and we went to Cambridge and "Magoun" Street to see THE house and his parents. It was like all Mr. G's stories came to life. Mr. and Mrs. Gibbons (Buddy & Flo) were just like I imagined. They are really special people. It was so neat to sit in their kitchen and visit. It was hard to believe that Mrs. Gibbons had "11" children. Thank you Mr. G for a wonderful visit.

When we left Magoun Street, we drove around Mr. G's neighborhood and went to Gibbons Park. It is dedicated to Mr. G's brother, John. After that we went to the train station and caught the "RED" line over to Harvard Square. It was busy even on a Sunday. Mr. G had a great idea and we decided to let some actual Harvard Students give us the tour of Harvard. It was much more fun than just walking around the campus on our own. Our tour guides were a riot and full of jokes, puns, and great commentary about Harvard and its history.
