Our 2nd Week Together

Another wonderful week in Parrot-Dise! It was wonderful to see so many of you parents at Open House... Thank you for coming out to find out what is going on in Room 13 and Room 70. We are continuing to work on Plot Structure in reading... this week will add the element of "Theme". We are well into our novel and met three new characters on Friday... one of them was Gertrude the "Parrot"! In writing we are continuing to learn more ways to engage the reader... and will probably start our first full narrative the end of the week.

In science we continue to discuss "scientific inquiry"... wonder how many scientist there are in Parrot-Dise? In math we are working on place value to the $$$Millions$$$!

We had our first day of treasure box, however most of the parrots decided to "SAVE" their money to wait for "Auction Time"!  Here are some photos and a priceless video of our week...

Ms. Bronfman and I are so impressed with how well the Parrots have settled into the Parrot-Dise routine. Be sure to ask for your child's planner and reading log every night.

We are "Ready" and "Waiting"...

Ms. Bronfman and Mrs. Peck are all ready and excitedly waiting for the new "Parrots"! It was so wonderful to meet so many of you at Orientation... can't wait to meet the rest of the Bronfman/Peck Parrots on Monday! Get ready for an awesome year... "Oh The Places You'll Go"!

 

 

 

Only one more week of vacation for your teachers!  Things have been very busy at Beauclerc this summer.... we have a new Principal, Ms. Manabat, and two new Assistant Principals, Ms. Wright and Ms. Mangual.  Also, I am team teaching with Ms. Bronfman, this year.  I will be teaching Reading, Writing, and Social Studies and she will be teaching Math and Science.  We are both looking forward to meeting the 2013-2014 Parrots!  Enjoy your last two weeks... see you on Monday, August 19th!!
