Short but busy week...

The Parrots came back after the holidays and "Hit the road running".... Hmmm I think that may be an idiom! Our Reading skill this week is Text Organization/Structure. Our story is Finding the Titanic... an interesting selection about Robert Ballard, the man who found the wreckage of the Titanic. It is great story of facts about the Titanic and Robert Ballard's quest to find the wreckage with "Flashbacks" to 1912!

In Writing we are working on good closure in our writing. Our "Writing Wall" is filling up with posters to remind us all the "tools" we have in our Writing Tool Belt. We are well equipped to "construct" a good narrative!

In Math we are working on word problems and discussing how each of us have different strategies to help us arrive at the same solution to problem.

Our new Science unit is about "Rock & Minerals"... we are learning all about the different types of rocks this week.

Next week we will work on a Social Studies unit on the Spanish Missions.

Here are some photos from our busy week.....

What a wonderful Tuesday....

It appears that Gertie has a friend visiting for the holiday... The Parrots are glad he will have someone to keep him company over the 6 day break.  His name is Toby Turkey.

After completing our work we had a little Holiday Fun making "Oreo Turkeys" and using our decoding skill cracking the code on a Thanksgiving Message.

Mrs. Lamb and I are sooooo thankful for all of YOU... have a wonderful and restful holiday with your families...

Gertie is thrilled to have a friend for the holidays...

YUM! A treat from Toby...

Thanks, Toby...

Wonder what we can do with these...

Mrs. Lamb knows...

How about some Oreo Turkeys...
