5th Grade News.....
It's been a great week in Rm 71&73... Our Selection Story this week is about James Forten and the African-Americans that played an important role in the birth of our country. There were many interesting vocabulary words which Mr. G helped us understand with some interesting background information. Our skill is "Theme". We learned that theme is different than Main Idea... it like the lesson or message of the story. This is Celebrate Literacy week and it was filled with activities to encourage literacy. On Tuesday we all read for 30 minutes during RtI time.

Mrs. Goodman really made the Study of Energy fun this week. I was so impressed with the Apes as they chose partners, did reasearch, and put together presentations of the various types of energy. This really made the understanding of energy come alive!

We ended the week with our Fun Run/Walk and an awesome Reptile Presentation...
