Those who sold the most cookie dough were rewarded with an unbelievable Reptile Show. It was very entertaining and educational.

Thanks PTA

4th Grade investigated magnets today...

We learned about which poles attract each other and which poles repel each other. Mrs. Ross brought in some "super" strong ball magnets. It was informative and fun!!!

4th Grade News...

We are one week away from the FCAT and with a few more lessons we will be totally ready. This week in Blast Off we focused on Non-Fiction reading. We learned that we need to read everything on the page...especially those graphic sources. We also discussed that some Non-Fiction pieces are written in "columns"...

We also discussed Setting, Characters, and Plot. We can learn a lot about characters by their actions, dialogue, and what other characters say about them. We discussed how these skills lend themselves to a "written" response. We are just about there... with one more week we will be ready to take on the FCAT!

I'm proud of how hard you are working...

Love you, Mrs. P

5th Grade News...

We have had a wonderful week. In Blast Off we have been discussing Non-Fiction reading. We learned that we have to read Non-Fiction differently than we do Fiction. Non-Fiction many times has graphic sources on the page that are important to the understanding of the article. We also discussed that Non-Fiction usually requires more Re-Reading.

In Writing we are working on another Response to Literature. This time it is a Photo Journal of children of the Holocaust. Everyone is doing an awesome job and sharing our Responses really helps us "grow" in our writing.

The best part of this week was Mrs. Whitelaw"s Birthday!!! Someone, rumor has it was Mrs. Peck and Mrs. Gaspard, made a visit to her house... something about 60 plastic eggs, 60 flowers, and 60 pin wheels mysteriously appeared in her yard the night before her birthday????? Then today we celebrated in style... thanks to all of you for making cards... and finding "60" items to put in her "gift" bags. She told me this afternoon it was the"BEST" birthday she has ever had!

Love you, Mrs. P

Beauclerc Night at Cici's Pizza...

I went to Cici's Pizza tonight for about 1 1/2 hours. I worked at the door and helped to tally what classes each student represented. The Ry/Ro's and The Apes made a good showing.
It was great to see you there to support our school with your families. Isn't it great to be a Beauclerc Jaquar??? Here are some pictures....
